LEYLAND 900FG RECOVERY VEHICLE, YEAR OF MANUFACTURE 1970

 

 

The vehicle was purchased for use in my business in 1973 and is still working today, although now only as a second line vehicle. It has never been restored, purely maintained to a very high standard in its original working condition. It is more a working vehicle than a show piece, albeit it is very adept at both tasks. It has always been a very hard working willing friend, it may be old by today’s standards, it can out-pull many of its younger cousins.

VACUUM SERVO ASSISTED LOCKHEED HYDRAULIC BRAKES.

3 SEPARATE SYSTEMS, SERVICE (FOOT), PARKING (HAND), EMERGENCY (TRIGGER ON HAND LEVER). THE FIRST VEHICLE OF ITS SIZE TO BE FITTED WITH THIS SYSTEM, AT THE TIME ONLY FOUND ON MUCH LARGER VEHICLES.

USED ONLY BY FULLY TRAINED OPERATIVES, DRIVER HOLDING HGV LICENCE.
