The Model Bus Federation was formed in 1968 by two enthusiastic bus modellers as a means of extending their hobby by communicating with other modellers, and swapping ideas and tips to help improve their modelling. Little did they realise that, over the years, the Model Bus Federation would grow into a world-wide association. The Model Bus Federation is still the only organisation devoted to the world of model PSVs which has its strength and base in the UK. Indeed, the growth of the bus kit industry over the years is due in no small way to the efforts of the MBF and its members who have helped to stimulate the growth of a new industry to cater for the demand.

Stagecoach Southdown changed the name on the buses to Stagecoach Coastline, losing the long established name associated with the long distance and country routes in Sussex formally provided by our most famous 'green and cream' operator of 'Southdown Motor Services' although pleasingly in more recent times the name has reverted back to this former operator than the Worldwide or global trading name. The prime service in Sussex has been the 700 route, over the years with minor changes, still provides a fast link between Brighton & Portsmouth still terminiating at Pool Valley. Routes now concentrate on West Sussex from centres of Worthing, Chichester & Portsmouth.

TucTuc is an independant family-run business and was founded by Domonic Ponniah during a GAP year holiday to India and Sri Lanka. The Brighton fleet is virtually zero-emission because our vehicles run on Compressed Natural Gas, one of the greenest fuels on the market today. Initially the service ran to fixed timetables just as a bus service & registered as such using 12 vehicles. With a revision of services & a relaunch in late May 2007, bigger 6-seater vehicles were bookable for everyday travel, special events, evenings out, or even for birthdays & parties. Find out what they plan, on Brighton 205000. This service is hoping to operate in other cities, but never again under current legislation in Brighton.

Transport for London - Low Emission Zone - Is your vehicle Compliant? -- This logo is (c) 'Transport for London 2005' (TfL) and used on this webmaster's own personal site, being for non-profit / non-commercial, informational use only. Transport for London - Low Emission Zone - Is your vehicle Compliant?
Are you ready for 2010, or even now, after the 4th Feburary 2008? Is your vehicle compliant?
Buses, Coaches, commercial vehicles and the most well known vans on the road are not compliant for 2010 to be used within the M25. Try the link now and enter any vehicle you own or have an association with, just a registration and the make will give you the details of its compliance as of 2008 and the forthcoming 2010 cut off date. Smaller bus and coach companies will probably find this a hard task to comply with, if the vehicle does not pass the requirement & cannot or is uneconomic to upgrade, then its surely going to bring many ex. London vehicles onto the market in the rest of the UK. What will hinder the many commercial organisations with older fleets of any of these vehicles, is taking passengers to London, as such within the M25, or the delivery of goods. For Sussex stallholders for example time for a change of vehicle as many of the events within that area like the annual April Cobham Bus Event will be affected.
PSV/PCV and other vehicles in the tax class as 'Historic' will be exempt, provided they are not used for trade or business. There are however enthusiasts & preservationalists with a much younger interest such the Leyland Lynx.

Who are we? BUS USERS UK, formerly known as NFBU, is an independent group which was formed to give bus passengers a voice. We have the ear of all the major bus companies and a lot of the smaller ones too, of their trade organisation and of the Government and local authorities. BUS USERS UK is not aligned to any political party.
Why do we need BUS USERS UK? Years ago bus services were run by local authorities and nationalised industry. Now bus companies run for profit. Very often the aims of making a profit and of giving you a good bus service are one and the same. Sometimes they’re not, and, except in London, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the law that brought in the changes didn’t do anything to help passengers get their views across. After ten years of dutifully serving a growing population of internet users, Jeeves decided to step down as the face of AskJeeves.com, and retire in style. Jeeves symbolised a traditional, at-your-service butler which made people feel comfortable and at home with asking any type of question. As the web became more of a real-time utility for people, Jeeves' job dramatically changed. Users came to Ask Jeeves for more sophisticated searches. Searches that were informational, navigational, and ultimately, transactional. Ask.com users wanted a search engine to help them search, get and do whatever they needed - at a moment's notice. This drove us to focus on improving our robust search engine technology and give users the Web's most useful set of tools, and gave Jeeves the opportunity to relax.
